Welcome To Coffee With Steve!

Hello everyone on this sunny, but chilly day here at Steve’s Country.  It’s noon and the temp is -20C (-4F), the sun is shining, there are ice crystals in the air which make everything sparkle so brilliantly.  They also make everything so cold.  At least there isn’t much wind today, so that helps a lot.  Wind always makes it feel so much colder.  All the birds look so much bigger now as they fluff out their feathers trying to stay warm.  And waiting for their energy food from my feeders.  Always so amazing watching the chickadees and nuthatches out there in this cold.  They are so small and yet manage to survive our harsh winters.  One reason they are both tops on my list of favorite birds.  And, of course, the fact that they are so friendly.IMG_0428

We had our coffee series this summer in the area parks, and other spots, but…now it’s too cold for that.

Therefore, we will have…

Coffee indoors at my place for a while.  It probably won’t be every week, but we will do it as long as possible through the winter.  Above are 3 items that I made, on top of the welcome sign is a squirrel though he doesn’t show up too well. I made that too.  In the summer I change that to a robin.

A catbird at my feeder. Hmm, a male caller for Muffin.

Thank you…

Sheree for bringing along some of your delicious homemade crispy butter shortbread cookies for us today!  The perfect cookie for a hot cup of coffee on a cold day.  If any of you would like to bring along some of your homemade cookies/cake/muffins for our coffee time just let me know and I will definitely give you a mention here on our coffee post.  Perhaps you would even be willing to share some of your amazing cookie recipes with us here.  You would definitely be given full credit for that, just let me know.

I don’t know anything about him, says Muffin.

I will be giving you all…

A tour of my place during these coffee times, plus talk about other things too as the days go by.  I will show you some of my many collections as we go along and some of the crafty things I have made such as the items in the first picture.  Does anyone need a refill of coffee yet?  Yes, there is tea and hot chocolate as well.  I see Dusty is looking for more coffee, and I know Sheree likes hers strong and black.  How about you Renee?  There, nice and hot for this cold winter day.

One of my “primitive” country decorative bird houses.

Just an introduction…

To our new series today.  Muffin is also thinking about something new to start soon.  I will let you know about that too when she is ready.  Right now she is sleeping here with me on the chair.  Good thing it’s just big enough for the 2 of us.  I hope you all have a wonderful day and God bless!

    • Thanks so much for joining us today Sara! Muffin won’t be able to have more kittens, that’s a thing of the past for her, she is now an indoor kitty. That male cat sure wanted to come inside too! He finally gave up and went somewhere else.😂😹

  2. What a lovely idea! A coffee visit for friends! Thank you for inviting us! 🙂 We finally get to pet Muffin! I made sure to wear my boots, just in case she decides to take a swipe! I value my unscathed ankles and feet, thank you very much!!😹😹…I will take my coffee with a hearty dose of Italian sweet creamer. (liquid) Keep pouring lol. Whoah! That should be good…No black coffee for me! 😸 And any kind of cookie is a good cookie for me….maybe not bacon flavored, although I do love bacon…I have to admit I tried making some one time! I wasn’t a fan….Love the woodwork! The squirrel is so cute!! Your welcome sign is way cooler than the plain one I made! I am about to try to flip mine over to the other side, paint it red and add ‘Joyous’ in antique white letters….does that snowman in the wooden house have a heart on its hat or is that me seeing hearts everywhere again? 🤷🏼‍♀️….well listen to me talking too much..I guess I better get going. Next time I will try to let Sheree get a word in edgewise! Loved the sweets Sheree! So yummy!😸😸😸

    • Thanks so much for joining us today Renee, sorry I forgot to provide a link to your blog, meant to do that, but I’ll get you again another time. You don’t need to worry about your feet, Muffin would never attack a woman.😹😻It’s only guys that need to worry.😼🙄Hmm, I think you’re seeing things, no heart on the snowman’s hat, though it does sort of have that look in the picture, not there though, sorry about that!😂⛄Thanks for your kind words for my woodworking. I like country style, doesn’t need to be perfect,🙄 and it has that nice homey look to it.😀Hmm, you might have to bring your own creamer, haven’t seen that kind around here, but this is a rather odd community for trying to find things. Sigh.😜Hope you have a great day Renee!😁😸⛄🎄

  3. Hi Steve, So finally found the love of Muffin😍 and you got skills Steve, lovely work at the Entrance, and the bird houses. You are doing awesome, looks like someone had become more creative sitting inside 😉😜 Hand works are awesome Steve ✨👌
