Daily Pics 2020…#24.

Good morning on this another mild January day! Happy Cabin Fever Day!!  It is really hard to believe all this mild weather we are enjoying right now.  And in January yet, that makes it even more amazing.  But I’m certainly not going to complain.  When I think of January last year, wow, what a difference!  It was cold.  Very cold, last year.  Most of the winter in fact.  Plus a lot more snow than this year.  I know we still could get more snow, but once January is done there isn’t much chance of getting too much of that brutal cold.  It can still happen, but it shouldn’t last very long at least.  It has actually been a long time since we have had such a mild winter, so it’s nice to have one again.

But now, it’s time for some summer beauty with some more wildflowers…

clintonia2

Here we have the pale yellow “clintonia”.  These flowers are very waxy, almost plastic looking.  But they are very pretty.  After, they produce fairly large blue berries that are not good to eat.  They can make a person quite sick.wood lily1

And here we have a very dark orange, almost red, “wood lily”.  This beautiful large wildflower, once picked, will never bloom again.  They are found in orange (most common), dark orange, red, and yellow (least common).  Mainly found in fields or open clearings.

Well, there we have our wildflowers for today, I hope you have enjoyed them.  Happy Friday to everyone and God bless!

    • It will never bloom again, period. The plant will grow the next year or two, then will die, but will never have any more flowers. And people love to pick them so they are getting harder all the time to find around here, unless going deeper into the forest. Thanks for stopping by!
