For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Good morning and happy Saturday to all of you! It is another beautiful spring morning with the birds already singing much earlier while it was still dark. Even a squirrel is out early this morning running through the trees, having so much fun. There are so many birds showing up now. Yesterday the loons were back, as was the phoebe, song sparrow, turkey vultures, broad-winged hawk, plus some others. The forest is coming to life once again with all this bird life. I walked down to the river again yesterday, it was just so beautiful to sit by the river in the sun, enjoying the warmth that has finally returned. The river level is down about 7 feet from last fall now so the rocks along the river shore are once again visible. A pair of common mergansers were swimming along the shore, but unfortunately on the other side of the river, a little too far for a good picture. All in all, it was a very enjoyable time.
And now for some pics from my walk yesterday…
Here is the male and female common merganser. The male’s head looks black, it’s actually a dark green and he has a nice red bill. Too bad they were so far away. Perhaps another day.
And here is one of eight turkey vultures circling overhead about half way to the river. These birds have a bright red head which has no feathers on it. But they do look majestic soaring against a beautiful blue sky.
I will be sharing more pics of this walk and hopefully more walks as well. This nice weather is supposed to continue for awhile. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend, stay safe and God bless!

It is certainly nice to be out. I have to walk slow and use a cane, but I’m doing it! Those vultures look great when they are soaring. Wish I could have gotten a pic of all 8 together. Thanks so much! Have a wonderful Sunday Nina!😃😺🌞☕☕

Keep doing it! I walked with a cane for a while after an injury. Got to where I really liked it. Something about a walking stick…
“vulture sky ballet”😁

Yes, true, walking sticks used to be very popular even with people who didn’t need a cane. Must admit, it does make things a little easier on parts of that path. I just have to be careful that it doesn’t encourage me to take more chances!
Hey, that’s cool, I like that “vulture sky ballet”. I wish I had thought, could have taken a video of them. I keep forgetting about that feature of my camera. Sigh.
Thanks Nina, for the encouragement. Hope you have a wonderful Monday!😃😺🌞☕☕😸🖐Mr Cat!

It’s ending in May 3rd in my location. Some hotspot areas are still under control till June for us Just 7 days more, but rumours around says it will be extended till mid May, I wish that should not happen 🙄🤔 No clue what dey have in their mind 🤔. let’s find out soon☺️

Ours goes until May 12, they might start lifting restrictions after that. Some provinces will start lifting restrictions May 1, but they didn’t have many cases of the virus. But it will be a 5 phase plan for all provinces. Some restrictions might stay in place until the end of July.😕

Here we can’t even go outside, and that is really boring to sit inside my sofa and bed all day 😜. It’s late, good Night Steve 🥰

Yes, that would be hard.😕 But I’m kinda used to it anyway, our long winters keep me inside nearly all the time.🤪 But I still have my birds, and that helps too. Good night!😃😺

All bird I mostly see here is raven and crows. Crows are smart and does not bother but I hate this Ravens always trying to fight and steal food from other birds 😱 and there are some little birds that comes by but it won’t come near to us. 😂 It’s probably scared of me 😁😜

Your ravens sound just like ours, I don’t like them around either, always scaring the other birds and taking their food. You have to learn to speak their language Simon, then maybe they will come to you.😃😺🌞🐦🕊🦆🦉

For real 🙄 you want my people to call me a witch? A male Witch 😂 I always remember these Raven’s and crows with a witch 😜 I feed them whenever I eat egg, I give them the yolk. My dad feeds them everyday, today morning I was surprised to see one crow was actually waiting for my dad’s snack. She is very smart, as soon my dad came she kept crying for him then he gave his snacks in second she fly away with all the food ☺️ It was beautiful to see someone feed these birds and animals 😍🥰

What?😳 Just for talking to birds?😳🤪 I talk to them and all the animals.😜 I’m starting to talk to the butterflies too,🤔🦋 see if my voice will work to attract them as well. Not much success so far though.😕😁😸

😜The only animals I’m comfortable talking with are dogs and cats. My dad is an animal lover he feeds birds dogs everyday and they wait for him.😂 Just for talking people will call me crazy, nothing more 😜, You do? Talk to butterflies ☺️🤗 wow Steve, you are going far friendly to thr nature beings, I’m sure they’ll understand you very soon ✨ any chance you got to speak with Ilona? France death rate and infected rate is too high 😳 I did email her🤔 Just wanted to be sure that all our blogger friends are fine☺️

I just need to learn the butterfly language yet.😂😹 Yes, I speak with Ilona regularly, she’s okay, hasn’t gotten this virus.😃😺 Yes, the virus is really bad in France, Italy and Spain.😳😳 So far none of my followers from there have gotten the virus, so that is good.🙂 2 of my followers have gotten it though,😬 from the US,😕 one I haven’t heard from in a while, hope he’s okay.🤔

Yes indeed, I’m just not sure if they talk butter or fly? Yes, Ilona and I are friends so we keep in touch regularly, it helped actually meeting her last year. Hard to believe there are still so many people who don’t take this virus seriously.😕 Did I mention there are positive cases here in my town now?🤔 Scary thought.😳 Glad I have masks to wear now.🙂😺

My god😱, please be careful, why are these people not taking this seriously 😱, in my area there is one positive today streets and roads are blocked 😕 Keep ths masks stocks ready Steve I use my handkerchief 😁 multiple layers not just corona no air can go outside 😂😜 jokes apart I do have masks. I wish the government should be more strong like in our place, it’s cruel here but that still helps anyway. Hope things will Get better over there.!

I don’t understand why people don’t think this is serious. One person I talked to said, “it only kills old people anyway so why should I worry”. Another person said “Better to kill the old people than the young people”. Another person said “it’s no worse than the flu so who cares?” Tell that to a 23 year old woman who died from it, or a 30 year old pregnant nurse who died from it. And so many who survived this virus but have been so weakened by it and they were healthy people before. I better stop before I rant again. Maybe I already did. Sigh. Yep, always wear a mask going out, that’s the best way. Try to sleep well Simon!😃😺🌞🌙😴

Is that a responsible answer 🙄 Sigh… It comes to anyone kills anyone and it makes one healthy body worse, we will be more like used tissue paper. I wish that people should learn a lesson. You please write wi rant about it, these people are the only killers of this earth now. Not thinking too much. Should stop it. Good night Steve ✨🤗
