Good morning everyone! Wow, can you believe it? It’s already the 200th Daily Pics post of the year! Even with everything going on with lockdowns and such, this year has been going by fast. For me at least. And this summer is really going by fast, but then, it usually does. Summer is short for us. Birds will soon be heading back south for the winter. Not many birds are singing in the morning now. Nights are cooler already. Days are getting shorter. The gulls are half an hour later getting here in the morning for their breakfast. The sun doesn’t rise until 5:30 am, hard to believe. The chipmunks used to come around before 5 am, now they don’t show up until 5:30. Summer is disappearing so fast. Some late summer wildflowers have started to bloom now.
All of my gulls showed up this morning, but not all at once this time which makes it easier to feed each of them. Sir Henry is now just as friendly as Sir George. I tried to see if he would take food from my hand, but he’s not quite ready for that yet. But he did get very close. Maybe it will happen yet. That would be fantastic. I forgot to bring peanuts out with me and Skamper showed up, first as usual. He came over and stretched up as far as he could. So I put my hand down and he climbed on and I lifted him up so he could be face to face. He seemed to like that. He came over and sniffed me, then gave me a little ‘kiss’ on the cheek. Then I went in and brought some peanuts out for him. He was running all around me, so excited. A wonderful country pleasure.

Then in the above pic are some beautiful, bright and cheerful flowers. I don’t know what they are however, but they grow in tall spikes covered with these yellow flowers.
In the above pic is a flower named “portulaca” and is one that does well in drier conditions and even poor soil. I was never able to do well growing these, I probably watered them too much. It isn’t quite fully open in this picture. The next chapter of my mystery story will be out today. Due to circumstances I was not able to get it posted yesterday. I hope you all have a great weekend and God bless!
