Coffee At Steve’s Country #66.

Good morning everyone! The coffee is hot so just help yourself to a cup and relax for a few minutes. It’s another beautiful start to the day, we are really getting spoiled with this early look at spring weather. But it sure is nice so I won’t complain about it. And today we have a strong south wind to really help melt that snow a little faster. I’m a little earlier today so that means I’m a bit earlier than the birds even though it is daylight already. But they don’t have to get at the food quite so quickly now with the warmer weather, they can take their time, perhaps sleep in a bit, or whatever else they do before coming here for their breakfast.

Jasper was here again yesterday afternoon and talked for a bit.

I spent time just sitting on the deck yesterday afternoon enjoying the warm sunshine. And it does get quite a bit warmer on my deck than elsewhere. The wall of the house really radiates the heat and with no wind it can be several degrees warmer on my deck than the actual temperature. This weather could start waking up some of our sleeping critters. Yesterday morning I could very strongly smell the skunk, so they are now awake again. I’m sure the raccoons won’t be far behind, which will mean I will have to start bringing the bird feeders in at night again too. I should probably start doing it before they show up and break something.

Major also came yesterday afternoon and nearly came right up to me.

They have broken more than enough of my hanging bird feeders the last 5 years. If they wouldn’t break the feeders I wouldn’t mind having them around. Muffin was scared of them at first, but not anymore. When she fought that one through the window and he fell over backwards onto the deck, it gave her renewed courage. I wonder what she really thinks of them? Perhaps thinking they are long haired cats? She wouldn’t actually want to meet up with one though, those critters can fight when they need to. Usually they prefer to just leave. To be honest, I’m surprised they haven’t been around yet. Then, of course, there’s the guy with the black fur coat. But we won’t talk about him right now. Did you just did this good morning early? as in so early than your normal early mrng 😳🤔🤨 I wonder why you post so early, and Muffin got her renewed courage is really appreciated, but don’t let such opportunity come in again, and by the way who is that man with black fur coat 😳🤔 This is not a suspense story you could tell us right 😸 Have a lovely Sunday, and I’m first right 🤔

    • I always used to get my morning post out early like this,😃 but that stopped when I got Covid,😬 so I’m trying to get back at it again.🤔 I’m not sure if I can do it this early every day, but I will try.🙄 The guy in the black fur coat is none other than our friendly (or not) Mr. black bear!🐻😳 He isn’t awake yet, but could wake up soon if this mild weather continues. It’s a beautiful, sunny warm day with a temp of 9C!😁🤸‍♂️🤸‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️😸😸🌞😎

      • Rats, I missed that for my post this morning.😳 Rats. That’s why Muffin is wearing her crown today.😽👑 How did she know?🤔 Did you tell her?🤔 I’m not sure where that bear hibernates, but somewhere over where I go walking to the river.😬🐻😳 Yep, I’ll be careful, you know me!😁🙄

      • Yeah, I know you for not remembering that “Careful” 😂. .. Yes, it’s international women’s day, I didn’t tell her, maybe she has good memory, I don’t even remember my born day 🙄😳🤣 things happen 🤣😂. How about you spread anesthesia in air so that it never wake up 😳🤔 you are wearing mask don’t worry 😉 .

      • I was being careful,😬 taking small steps and even had a walking stick with a sharp point for digging into the ice.🤔 Still fell.😲 So I’m not going back there until the ice and snow melts.😳🤪 Terrible….😕😕😕

    • That was last fall when Muffin got her courage back fighting (through the window) that raccoon, so she’s not afraid of them anymore. Have a great day!😀😺☕☕🌞🦝🐻🦌

  4. Jasper is so cute! Steve, you captured a nice picture of him! Major’s picture is great as well. Good for you, Muffin! 😍. I know how you felt. A raccoon looked me dead in the eye from a tree in California as I was going to my front door. I turned around and walked in different direction. 😂. They are pretty bold.     • I think that raccoon was just coming up to the window to look at Muffin😂 and he wasn’t expecting such a reaction from her,🦝 that’s why he fell backward onto the deck!😹 But it made Muffin feel good anyway.😸😻 Yes, they are very bold and easy to tame.😄🦝 But they can carry rabies though which isn’t so good.😬 It has been a fantastic day and looking forward to a new week!       • We had it at 30F last night and it should get to 46F today and up to 50 tomorrow. But we will be back to cold weather by the end of the week. The snow is melting fast though!😃😸🌞😎🌱
