For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Good morning everyone on this cloudy Tuesday! At least it is not very cold, 2F (-17C) and there is not very much wind which helps a lot as well. There was another inch of snow to clean off the feeders this morning, it was the same yesterday morning. And more snow is in the forecast over the next few days, but only small amounts of 1 to 2 inches (2.5 to 5cm) at a time. Much better than getting a large snowstorm. Jasper was here very early again, by that I mean it was still basically dark. It was possible to sort of see the outline of things outside, but it was far from daylight. I told him he is taking chances, there are owls around that would love to have a squirrel for breakfast. I don’t think he believes me.
I see that Garnet has arrived now so the chattering begins! They were running through the snow, but because the snow is so soft right now they seemed to be having trouble getting a solid jump going in their running. Therefore there was some sliding and it almost looked like a slow motion chase. Normally squirrels can go through the snow quite easily, I don’t know why they were having so much trouble. But it was fun to watch anyway.
Yesterday afternoon I stood outside with the birds for a while. The pine grosbeaks came down without much hesitation again. But it was cold out there. The temp was not so bad, 0F (-18C), but the wind was so strong that it just kind of blew that cold right through me. I was actually surprised it felt so cold. Oh well. But it is nice the birds are getting used to me, that is important, so maybe I will try for some pictures today. Hopefully the wind will not be a problem today.
Junior was around again yesterday, I only spotted him as he was heading across into the neighbors yard, but I called him and he came right over to me. I hope the people moving into the house like animals. The birds are busy out there although it seems like the grosbeaks have flown again, but they will be back shortly. I see they have come back already, at least the pine grosbeaks have come back anyway. The sun is shining somewhat through the hazy clouds. The blue jays are looking for some more peanuts. I am ready for some more coffee, anyone else want some too? Thank you for reading, have a wonderful day and God bless!

Yes, Garnet is a new squirrel trying to move into Jasper’s territory. Junior has been around a long time, since he was a fawn, now he’s a nice size buck, but has small antlers. Have a great day Simon, or night if you are awake still!πππππ΄

Well, if they have food I don’t think he will mind, but if no food I doubt he will come to them. I just hope they like having the deer around.ππ¦ Or that could be a problem for me.π¬
