Good morning everyone! Well, it is a much milder morning today, which is certainly a nice break from the last few days. It has been rather cold. Like yesterday, it was our coldest night and day of the winter so far. Much too cold. When they start talking about temps down around -48F (-44C), then it is definitely too cold. Even the birds agreed with me on that. Those poor little chickadees and nuthatches had trouble eating since they had to keep stopping to warm their little feet. I felt so sorry for them out there.
But it was sure a busy day with all the birds coming in for food yesterday. They ate a lot. Which makes sense. That is how they stay warm. That food provides them with the heat they need to survive these cold temps. But they get a bit of a break today and tomorrow before the cold returns again. Hopefully I can spend some time outside today with the birds and get some to come onto my hand once more. And maybe get a photo or two.
It is amazing how one thing leads to another to another and so on. Like when I am trying to do something. Just one thing. But in order to do that one thing I have to do something else. But in order to do that, I need to do something else. And so on. Happened yesterday. Since the new tenant moved into the house it gets a bit, um, “foggy” in here. So I wanted to pack away some antique blankets I had out in order to keep them safe from this “fog”.
I like to have these blankets out in the winter, it gives the apartment a nice old style cozy look, which I like. However, I decided it would be better to pack them away again for now. However, that meant moving a bunch of stuff off my blanket chest. Then inside the blanket chest was a bunch of things I had put there for the winter, so I had to find a new place for them. That meant moving some other stuff to a new location. I did get it all done, but not as quickly or as easily as I thought. However, that is kind of normal for me anyway. Oh well. Minor things. I hope you have a marvelous Monday and God bless!
