Welcome to our new series showing some of our northern insects. Of course many will also be found in other areas too, not just the north. But it is amazing how many we have up here, including some we probably wish we did not have. But even those are actually beneficial by providing food for numerous other insects, birds and mammals. Today we start off with one of my favorites that I have shown here many times, the “orange-belted bumble bee”, also called the “tri-colored bumble bee”. I think it is one of our most common bees around here. Hope you have a great Saturday everyone and God bless!
