Spring Solitude. #4

Good morning on this rainy Saturday! It does have that spring fresh scent outside today which is so nice. But here we are, the last day of April. There are still lots of winter birds around yet, notably redpolls which number around 40 this morning. And there is still snow, lots of it. As I look out my windows most of what I see on the ground is snow, not much actual ground showing.

There is a lot of ground showing in other areas that get more sun, but not right here. But this coming week it is supposed to warm up considerably so the snow should finally disappear. Speaking of snow, it is supposed to snow again later today, tonight and tomorrow. Seems it is not warming up as much as was originally forecast, so all that rain is turning white instead.

We did get a lot of rain last night though. Speaking of snow, it is snowing right now. A fitting way to end the month I suppose. Spring. We are not really going to get much spring this year, but that is okay, just go right into summer is fine with me. Though I do like spring, actually I thoroughly enjoy spring. All the new growth just getting started. The first flowers of the year.

Butterflies waking up and fluttering about. Birds returning from the south and bringing with them a beautiful chorus of songs. Walks to the river. Watching the ducks, loons, pelicans down at the river floating along on the water or flying low over the water. Just sitting on the rocks watching the water flowing past with all of it’s swirls and bubbles.

A beautiful higher spot to sit and look at the river below.

I can just feel it now, a warm sunny day at the river, soaking in that sunshine. Walking along the river under a canopy of pines with that soft spongy layer of pine needles beneath my feet. Talking with my friendly squirrel. Taking pictures of new mushrooms that have just recently popped out of the ground. The whole experience is just beautiful. Spring solitude. A wonderful time indeed.   2. Steve, your summer will come speedily! The snow will melt quickly and the flowers will pop out. We have enjoyed above freezing temperatures even at night for about 5 days and it is amazing how much the huge piles of snow are diminishing. Of course areas are flooding because the ground is frozen. The rivers are still filled with ice but we will experience breakup. It will be in May but we go suddenly from winter to summer. Love the 24 hours of daylight that will be here soon.😊 Happy weekend!

    • Yep, summer will get here, now on top of all the rain we are getting it is supposed to snow again overnight, depending just how cold it gets will determine how much stays on the ground, could be as much as 4 inches again. Oh well, this coming week we will have temps getting in the 60s with sun so that will melt any leftover snow and help to dry things out a bit. Have a great weekend too!😊😺☔

  3. Snowing ? I hope we do not get it ! Lots of rain though and flooding in some areas…we are fine …like the trees and river scenes…have a good night ! 🙂😻☔️⛈😴

    • Mostly rain today, but we did get some flurries. But we are supposed to get up to 4 inches tonight. You might also! Have a good night!😊😻🌙😴😴☔☔

Hope your place gets some heat too, I’m sending away the sum, not sure why it refuse to show up around your place 😉 hope all the bright places comes to light again snow free and hot this MAY.     • Good morning Simon! It was 3C today and rain, not very warm for May 1. Oh well, warmer and sunny weather coming this week!🌞😎 So maybe our snow will finally disappear for us.😁 I hope so.🙄 Apparently this is the latest spring in more than 40 years!😮 I hope our summer is nice and hot this year.       • Oh the weather predicted same here, a hotter week 🙄 Time for a chicken barbeque 😉😄 planning for this weekend, let’s see what my kids planned for me 🤣🤣. The climate changes rapidly and are close to our own species extinction 🙄🤔 do bitcoin exist If we go mars🤪 vacumn space they say, in that case are we also empty 😅 I’m sure my head is empty 😄😄😄 It was a hectic Monday 😋 looking forward to Saturday 🤪😁 Wish tomorrow is Saturday .. good night 😅😅

      • It’s better in some way, shopping and tired, didn’t go to office had to shop a lot today and I’m very tired 🤣. It’s better I sleep now, kids are keeping us awake 🙄🤪 they are super active and I’m just the opposite now 😅😅. Hope your day began fine today, is it better today ? 😄😉
