For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Good morning to all of you on this cool, windy and rainy Thursday! Coffee is ready for you so sit back and relax with us for a few minutes. Yesterday was a beautiful, sunny day for the most part until later in the afternoon when thunderstorms moved in once again. But while the sun was shining I was out taking pictures. I did manage to get some interesting insect pics which I will be showing soon.
But today we will have some of our wild berry flowers to show you. That will start with the featured image above, the wood strawberry, one of two wild strawberries that we have. And although these wild strawberries are much smaller than the cultivated varieties, they are absolutely delicious and are packed with flavor. All of our wild berries are blooming in abundance this year, likely because of all the rain we have had this year.
The ground is still saturated with moisture so most of the rain we get now just runs off into the lakes and rivers. But we are still not at record levels yet, that distinction goes to the year 1950 when our lake was nearly a foot higher than today. Tomorrow was supposed to be a nice sunny day and warm, but not hot. A perfect day for a walk to the river. Well, perhaps not. The morning is to be cloudy now, perhaps clearing around noon. That means late afternoon.
It could be next Wednesday before the weather is nice enough for a walk to the river. Sigh. Right now it is raining. A lot. And I have to go out and take my trash out to the street soon for pickup. Safe to say I will get wet. Very wet. Sigh. Oh well. Muffin is sleeping right now. Smart cat. That is a good thing to do on a rainy day. Also drink coffee. And read.
Or do some cleaning. Which is what I will be doing today. Rainy days are necessary once in a while or I wouldn’t get my cleaning done. Okay, I would anyway. But it is terrible to waste a beautiful day by staying inside to clean. I started a while back sorting out my photos. I was doing quite well. Then I started slowing down. It was the realization of discovering how many photos I had to sort through. I did not realize until then just how many I have.
This is going to take a while. It is something I should have done right from the start. But I am just not that organized. And I just did not realize how quickly photos can add up in this digital age. It is fun though. And this is only the start of my 5th year of photography. It is a great hobby though. Well, I must get going, it has been nice having coffee with all of you this morning. Have a wonderful day everyone and God bless!
Steve and Muffin.

You and me both on the organization of photos. When I took them on film, Anita would arrange them beautifully in albums, most of which are on bookshelves, with dates on the outside so we can go back and reminiscence whenever we want. Now, I have THOUSANDS on the extra drive for the computer!
But you and I differ on rainy days! I love them; everyone and everything seems to slow down, and I feel like I can get much more accomplished. Now, if I could just get two years of rainy days, maybe I could get my photos organized! π

Those old film days, when we had to wait a week or longer to find out if our pics turned out good or not. No chance for a second shot so it was necessary to get it right the first time. I didn’t have much of a camera back then so pics were more typical people and sightseeing types. I do like it better now.
You’re right, it does seem like things slow down on rainy days and they are necessary. And they are good for indoor projects, like organizing photos! But I do wish I had started sooner. It is going to take a long time to get things done right. Oh well, part of photography. Have a great day!ππΊβοΈ

The first time I wanted to be a father at age if 15, in a church π. My aunt who is already in part of church told me i am going to be a father, not in the church. I wished many times it isn’t true, now ? You know itπ π I’m enjoying it. Have a Great Week to Youπ€
