Looking At Insects. #12 Butterfly.
Good morning everyone! Today we have the “White Admiral” butterfly to enjoy. They are a dark blue/black in color with red, blue and white spots and white bars on its wings. It is one of our larger butterflies with a wingspan of 3 to 3 1/2 inches (7.5 to 8.75cm). Normally they show up for us sometime in June and will keep flying around until about early September.
They will have one or two broods per summer. They overwinter as caterpillars that hide under leaf litter on the ground under trees. Have a wonderful day everyone and God bless!

You are very much welcome! So glad to make you happy. But you’re taking too long so I’ll give a hint. I found out some of these insects that I thought might be some kind of harmless beetle are actually different species of spider wasps that have a very painful sting to people. Guess I should stop trying to pick them up.🤔
