Looking At Insects! #21 Dragonfly.

Good morning everyone! Well, yesterday we saw the female Autumn Meadowhawk dragonfly, and today we have the male Autumn Meadowhawk which is a nice bright red. Just 1.3 inches (32mm) long, it is small and can be hard to spot, even though red. The female is harder to spot however. The males also have reddish spots at the ends of their wings. Although they do come out the end of July, I find that they are not common until mid August and extending into October. Have a wonderful day and God bless!
