Wednesday Words With Coffee. #1

Good morning everyone! Here we are, mid week, time to sit down with a cup of coffee and enjoy some time to talk. Or perhaps just listen, or read, or think. Time to replenish our energy to tackle the remainder of the week. Coffee. The pleasant aroma. The delightful taste. The warming sensation on a cold winter morning.

It is a great way to begin the day, anytime of the year, but especially so on the cold days of winter. It just makes a person feel so good. It is comforting. It is one of those scents that can permeate an entire house very quickly. Much like the crackling of a fire in the fireplace or old fashioned wood stove. That is also something that gives you a feel good feeling and energy to start the day.

The highway coming into town and part of our frozen lake with snowmobile tracks in the snow.

There are downsides to wood fire heating as well, so I am not exactly promoting the idea. The smell of bacon frying in the morning is another of those wonderful scents to begin the day. Combined with coffee and French toast, we have a great way to start the day. Especially mid week. It gives that rejuvenating energy to carry us through the remainder of the week. Or every day for that matter. At least having coffee every day.

Frosty trees against a nice blue sky.

Some of you probably do not like coffee, that is okay. But nothing else comes close to that wonderful coffee aroma filling the house in the morning. I need more coffee now. How about you? That will teach me to talk about coffee. Much like talking about French fries. I like fries. A lot. In case you did not know that. Most of you probably do by now. I also like warm places. I can still remember those beautiful warm days on the French Riviera. That is a warm place.

At least I think it was part of the Riviera. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong. It was certainly a Nice place to visit anyway. I just could not resist that.πŸ˜‚πŸ˜Ή Anyway, it has been milder here lately. Though we had two days and nights with freezing fog. That kind of thing makes the cold penetrate right through a person, even being dressed for it. But it did make the trees, and other things, very beautiful. The trees are still very frosty. Yesterday the sun came out and I went to get some photos of this frosted beauty.

Train traveling through the frosty trees.

Actually, I got a lot of photos. I am sharing some today, and I will share more at other times. It does look very beautiful. It also looks cold. I am not really a fan of cold. You probably have guessed that already. So why do I live here? Probably the same reason that some people live in a hot climate and yet do not like the heat. And there is no place in this big country that is actually warm in the winter. Oh well. Winter does have its beauty. Thank you for visiting today, I hope you enjoy the frosty pics and God bless!

  2. Hi Steve! Coffee is what I’m all about! I could not have written it better. Indeed, it’s like a warm hug in a cup. Funny you mentioned Nice, last time I was on WordPress you had just returned from your trip! Thanks for sharing and hope the winter is not too cold up in Canada this year! β˜•οΈ

    • Hey Mr. R! Nice to see you again! Yep, that was such a beautiful trip to Nice, love that warm weather. Wish I had thought of that one for coffee, it’s great! It is actually quite nice right now, for us at least. We did have a couple weeks in December with temps down to -30 to -40, but that is the only cold weather so far. But we’re not even half way through winter yet. Have a great day!πŸ˜ƒβ˜•β˜•
