For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Good morning and Happy Saturday! Well, the bird feeders are sure lonely this morning, nearly all of my birds have gone now. But a male Ruby-throated Hummingbird arrived last evening so I quickly put out my hummingbird feeder for him. I do not know if he has found it yet or not, I have not seen him use it yet anyway.
But I am sure he will find it sooner or later. They are always such fun to have around. And other years the bear has not bothered with the hummingbird feeder, so I can leave it out there all the time, which is nice. It is slightly cooler this morning than it has been, but still nice, and the next couple of days should be very nice and warm.

Because of our odd spring this year, first being so cold that it held up the spring migration. Then it suddenly warmed up so much that birds began coming back and moving through right away heading to the far north for breeding, or just spreading out in the area for breeding, therefore they are not stopping at the feeders like they usually do.

That has really limited my photography opportunities this spring. Birds are not stopping long enough at the feeders to get pics, and I am not walking to the river due to the bears, so no pics there either. Oh well, a different year, though very unfortunate from a photography perspective. Maybe I just need to forget about the bears and start walking to the river anyway.
Male American Goldfinch. These will sometimes spend the winter here.
Because this is World Migratory Bird Day, I am showing pics of some of our beautiful migratory birds. These birds only come here for the summer and head south for the winter months. Fortunately we have some species of birds that stay here all year. Hmm, it seems to be getting more and more clouds out there, though the sun is still shining a bit.

I had some good news yesterday. The woman that I needed to see about my disability pension was still not back from her vacation, however, I talked with two other women that worked in that office and got everything settled, so my disability pension will start up again June 1st. I thank my God that has been settled now, thanks for everyone’s prayers and thoughts about this matter.

Well, it is Saturday and I am sure you want to get busy with your day, I hope you enjoy the migratory bird photos today! Have a wonderful Saturday and God bless!
