For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Good morning to all of you! It is a cloudy but warm morning here. There is also the possibility of severe thunderstorms this morning, but nothing so far. No rain either. Yet. That could change, however, there are still dark clouds hanging around. I am hoping the sun will come out though. It is not supposed to, but I like to hope anyway. It could happen. Maybe.
That is just a little thing though. For us anyway. Some places need the rain, but we are quite wet now in our area. There has been a lot of rain here lately. Little things. Sometimes things can seem to be big, like big problems. Yet if we really stop and consider, we would find that it really is not as big as we think. It is just a little thing. I am not saying it is like that all the time, but often it is.

One of the fawns from yesterday. He is smaller than he looks.
We spend a lot of time worrying over things that seem so big coming at us. But when they arrive, oftentimes they turn out to be just a little thing. And we wasted all that time worrying over a little thing. And that worrying can often disrupt our lives. It can even make us sick.

Here are both, though one is hiding a bit.
Yet, when this “thing” actually arrives, we wonder why we worried so much about it. Because it was just a little thing after all. However, the little things I am really talking about are the little things in nature. Little things that we often miss, or overlook, or just do not care about. Yet they can be very beautiful, cute and quite enjoyable.
Like these little fawns shown today. There were two of them actually, but one was a bit uncooperative. So, trying to get the two of them together was not easy. Sigh. I got their pics yesterday. Then there is the Hummingbird Clearwing moth. Their wings flap like a hummingbird, just a blur. But they do rest now and then, like the one pictured. It has a wingspan of 1 and a half inches (37-38mm).

I spotted this one land, it stayed there about an hour, then flew away. I finally got pictures of both the male and female Black-striped Globetail flower flies. I got the male last year too, but added the female this year. They are uncommon around here and are small, about 3/8 inch (about 8mm) long. I like little things.

Sometimes big blessings can come in tiny packages. The other day I was sitting outside feeding the chipmunks. I was a bit discouraged. Coffee came running up my leg and grabbed a peanut and began stuffing it in his cheek. Then he stopped and looked up at me. He put the peanut back and looked again. Then he ran up my arm onto my shoulder.

I turned a bit toward him and he reached up and licked my cheek. Then down he went, took his peanuts and off he went. That happened 3 years ago too, but with Rusty. This is not something normal. Only Rusty and Coffee have done it, just once each. Big blessings in tiny packages. God showing me He cares. The discouragement left. Thank you all for reading today. Have a wonderful Tuesday and God bless!

It is wonderful how God uses chipmunks and other things to encourage us when we are discouraged. The fawns are so beautiful, fresh new life!
