For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Good morning everyone on this cool, rainy Thursday! This is certainly a real, typical fall day here in the north. There is even the possibility of snow flurries coming our way over the next couple of days. But I doubt that will actually happen. It would not be unheard of though.
On October 9, 2018 we had a foot of snow arrive and it stayed with us until the end of April, 2019. We had a lot of snow that winter, and a lot of cold weather too. That was nearly 7 months with snow on the ground. That is too much, even for a northerner like me. I am not exactly complaining, just telling a fact. It is not fun having such a long winter.

Looking at islands on the lake, Monday morning, Oct 2.
Further north it can be much worse. I know one of my readers lives further north. But, we do put up with it because that is where we live. And winter is coming fast. Here I am talking about winter, I must be crazy. Back to fall and the beauty of the season. It has been a remarkable fall so far, certainly nothing to complain about. And it is good to get the rain as well.
More moisture in the ground can be good for spring, especially if it happens to be a dry spring. But, we get what we get and we should be happy with it. Complaining does not do any good, except to make us more miserable. Sometimes I think that complaining is our national pastime though. Everywhere a person goes it is possible to hear someone complain about something.

Moving a little further to the left of the above photo.
Usually the weather tops the list. Although lately high prices might actually top the list. Every time I go shopping, which is once a week, something has gone up in price. Usually by quite a bit. Oh well. Like the weather, we cannot really do much about it. My feet are bothering me a lot today for some reason. Not sure why.

And again a little further to the left, more islands in the distance.
They seem to be a bit swollen too, not seriously though. Not getting enough exercise lately I guess. And I do not like walking in the rain when it is cold. And windy. Very windy. Oh well. Perhaps tomorrow. Hmm, time for more coffee. I hope you all have a wonderful day and God bless!

Good Morning Stevecicle!π Too bad about your feet! That can be miserable and uncomfortable. Maybe a walk through the apartment building might help a little?π€ Those loke pics are great! Anice reminder of the summer months.

Good morning Dusty! Sorry I wasn’t on earlier, haven’t been feeling well today. Yep, the lake was nice on Monday, more glassy looking when I first started out, but still nice anyway, I was happy with them.ππ· How was your day?π€π§οΈβ

It’s windy and kinda chilly but not too bad. I think I might be developing a sinus infection.π€§ Either that or allergies again.
I hope you’re feeling better soon.π

Yep, windy and very chilly, with rain here all day.ββ My allergies are have been bad lately too. This is something different though.
Thanks. Was it a busy day?π€

No, not really. I had one call at 11 and after lunch I worked on a few of my planes between work spells. We’re you down in bed today?

Planes! How many do you have? Are they big?
No, not in bed except for a while this afternoon, mostly just sitting with my eyes closed. Seems like I was just over exhausted and my body just didn’t want to move.π€π€

Yes, I have 3. They range in wing span from 1.2 meters to 1.5 meters. Well, I’m glad you’re able to at least rest some today. All that moving and unpacking and setting up and… and… well it can just plain wear you out.

Cool, that’s a nice size! One of my uncles, when younger, used to make and fly his own planes in competitions out west. Not sure about wingspan, but they would be about 6 feet long.
Yeah, maybe now that everything is done, my body just kind of “took a break”. Hope I feel better in the morning, that’s my turn for doing laundry.
LikeLiked by 1 person
Oh… you have scheduled laundry days?
Yes, these are Styrofoam with electric motors. They are fun to fly and still a bit of a challenge. Which makes and keeps it interesting.

Yep, my time is 8 to 10am Fridays. I use the laundry room on the main floor, there is another one on the third floor.
Yeah, I have seen them in operation in Winnipeg years ago, looked like great fun. Too many trees around here. How long can you fly it before the battery runs out?
LikeLiked by 1 person
The smaller up to about 20 minutes. The larger ones, about 10 minutes. Then, swap out the battery with a charged one and recharge.

Hehe! Yeah, it would be nice. I wonder if they have model helicopters?π€π

Oh yes! There are several people at the flying field with helicopters. Those things are amazing! But you have to be really good to fly them! They can be very tricky to fly!

Yeah, I was thinking they might be hard flying them.

Good Morning, I alive! Yes indeed I am. I feel otherwise. Taking the dock out yesterday kicked my but! I guess I’m getting to old to be doing that. I was hurting so bad I was getting nauseous. I took some medication and went to bed early. I just woke up about 30 minutes ago. I’m sorry I missed you last night.

Good morning Dusty! Sorry I missed this yesterday. I was offline all day except for doing Muffin’s morning post and answering a few comments last evening.
We had a good frost last night, should finish off the last of the leaves, with more frost coming tonight. Then cloudy with showers or flurries right through till Sunday.
Did you have a good day?π€π

Oh, fun stuff huh? 2 weeks ago I put in my new address change for my credit card. Can’t do it on the phone anymore so they told me to go to the bank branch in town. Fine. I do that. My card expired this month so they sent me a new one, normal. I go to activate it, doesn’t work. I call to find out. Seems something was wrong with my address change, though I’m not sure what. So I have to go back to the bank tomorrow and try to get it straightened out. Meanwhile my card is cancelled, which is a problem. Sigh. Hopefully it can be fixed tomorrow. Sigh.π

Sometimes, they can activate them right at the bank. That’s what they did for me.

LikeLiked by 1 person
Wow, what a difference! But you do live in the tropics. Still bad pain today, I am sure it’s the weather bothering me. I have turned the heat up in here now. But it doesn’t seem to be helping much though.π€π₯Ά

I’m sorry to hear that. π I’ll bet the heat feels good though. How is the view from your deck?
LikeLiked by 1 person
Yeah, the heat does feel good.
The view is rather chilly so I don’t go out there. Muffin enjoys it though but she can only go out when I do.
Got things cleared up at my bank too, but it took awhile. The assistant manager was great though, but even she had a hard time getting the message across to the head office. They had frozen my whole account, I couldn’t access my money!

Good morning, Steve! Fellow reader currently drinking her coffee β.
The photos look amazing as always, and I’m sorry to hear about your feet. Get some rest and have a salty bath, this may help.
I love the autumn days around here. It’s not too cold or too hot and the views are lovely. Also, snow flurries sound delicious – must be my hungry morning stomach talking π.
Thanks for sharing and have a great weekend ahead, both you and Muffin π€πΊππΎ

You’re up drinking coffee when I’m still π€π€! Thanks so much Katherine, glad you like them. Maybe I will have to try that salty bath, nothing else seems to be working, although there is some improvement today.
Well, I can honestly say that I don’t want to see snowflakes just yet, though it is not unusual to see snow this time of year. It will soon be time to dig out the winter clothes and practice shivering!π₯Ά
Thanks Katherine, hope you all have a great weekend too!ππΊππβ

The time zones do that to you sometimes, Steve. I’m drinking my morning coffee again now. π
Yeah, sure, in Romania we have a knack for trying natural remedies before pills or doctors. Obviously they don’t always work but they alleviate the pain somewhat.
Ahh, now I see. I’m in love with the year end, and the cold weather doesn’t bother me as much, since I work remotely I don’t have to wake up shivering all the time, I can just throw over a warmer set of clothes and enjoy a hot drink. But I understand the case. How is winter in Canada? Is it too cold? Never been there so I guess I’m just curious.
Thank you, I’m still engaged with work but today I planned to relax and take it easy πΊπΎβπ

Yes, those time zones are crazy that way!
I always like to try natural remedies for things, some have worked good for me, others have not worked at all. Still I don’t mind trying them first rather than prescription drugs though I don’t mind using prescription drugs when I need them.
Depends on the part of Canada, what winter will be like. Even here in Ontario, the south of the province can often get more snow than us, but the winters are much milder and shorter. Here we usually get 6 months of winter with an average of of 6 feet of snow, which is close to 2 meters. Two winters ago we had 10 feet of snow. Temps can get as cold as -30 to -40 C, and many times even colder. Our coldest on record was -62C, three days in a row, but that was a number of years ago. -20C would be a mild day for us.
Have a great Monday Katherine!ππΊββππ
