For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Hello everyone and Happy Tuesday! It is a nice mild morning, though cloudy again and a bit on the windy side. If this weather keeps up I should be able to put my geraniums out on the balcony soon. I could put them out there now, but I would likely have to bring them inside, or cover them, on chilly nights.
But I might consider giving it a try this week. Muffin apologizes for not getting her funnies out yesterday, technical difficulties, but she will be back tomorrow.

Another view of our lake.
There was a lady that lived in the apartment next to mine, but she had to move into a nursing home due to memory problems and falling a lot causing broken bones. Anyway, the apartment has been empty for over a month because they have been working on that apartment, renovating it completely. I was quite surprised they did so much work to it since there really was not anything wrong with the place.
But apparently they will be doing that from now on when people move out. I just noticed something this morning as I looked out my window, some of the trees are starting to show some green now. Those little green leaves are growing and soon everything will be nice and green once more. And flowers will be growing and in bloom soon as well.

Always nice to see those tiny green leaves popping out and giving color to the trees once more.
I mentioned before that Forsythia were blooming in one location and yesterday I spotted them in 3 other locations as well. Plus dandelions are now blooming nicely in that new green grass. Yes, I know, a lot of people hate dandelions. I like them. They are beautiful and bright first thing in the spring, and most of the summer too, but spring is there main time. Plus, if you don’t use poisons on your lawn, they are very good to eat.
The whole plant can be eaten, roots, leaves, stems and flowers. It dried properly those roots can make a nice tasting coffee substitute, and very healthy too. But that’s just me. I am rather different. Or ‘strange’, as some people put it. Okay, I admit, sometimes I do things that are rather odd. But sometimes it is necessary to do odd things to get some good pictures. You probably do not want to know some of the things I have done.

Clouds can be so beautiful too.
Kind of scary. Even for me. When I think about what I did, after doing it. I try not to think about it before I do it. Or I might not do it. And that would be no good. Just think of all the pictures I would miss if I thought about things ahead of time. Hmm, the sun is trying to break through the clouds. Actually, it is the clouds that are breaking apart which allows the sun to show through momentarily. Hmm, must be time for more coffee. I hope you all have a wonderful day and God bless!

Happy Springtime! Our leaves popped open halfway, looks similar to your photo. But yesterday, we had a couple of inches of snow, then rain, then snow again. Hopefully, the leaves will fully unfurl today. Would love to see some dandelions and some green grass. Our leaves are out earlier this year. Have a great day!

Wow, a wild ride in the weather! I thought maybe you would have the green grass and dandelions already. I was surprised to see leaves popping out already here, very nice though.
Thanks, you too!😊😺☕☕

You’re welcome! Still have some snow in my yard but most has melted. Last year the ground had not thawed by June 1st. 😊

That is late! One year we actually had natural snow drifts 4 feet deep still on June 15 and ice along the edges of streams nearly until the end of June that year. I’m glad that was only one year!

Things usually melt by mid May because we have the midnight sun and warmer temperatures. 24 hours of daylight causes snow to melt and things to grow fast. They have to do well with cold soils. That mid June snow sounds like a good reason to move.

Hmm, I never thought about the cold soil part, but that makes sense. Fortunately that mid June snow was just once or I would have considered moving!

I like dandelions too, their look at least, I haven’t much explore their gastronomical value. 🙂

Yep, they are amazing little wildflowers, very healthy and everything can be eaten. The flowers look great in a salad, though you may get strange looks from your guests!😂😹
