For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Hello everyone! It is a cool, cloudy and drizzly day. That makes it a nice day to sit inside, drink some nice hot coffee and think about some more things that I like. This is not meant to be a complete list at all, just a few things that come to mind and that I really enjoy. Of course you all know most of the things that I like anyway, but that is okay. Today I will share a few more.

Such as being out on the lake on a beautiful sunny day. Whether it is our big lake or usually, one of the smaller lakes in our area. Especially in the earlier morning when the lake is nice and calm. I also enjoy birds and we have so many different species of birds in our area. Not like some areas, of course, but we still have a good number that breed here in summer.

Such as smaller birds, like the White-Throated Sparrow. They are one of the most common sparrows in this area and have a nice happy song.

Then there is one of my all time favorite summer birds, the Common Loon. They are not really very common in much of their range now, but here they are still common which is nice. They are one of the true sights and sounds of the wilderness. Especially sound. Their eerie calls that cry out at night are a beautiful listening experience.

Then there are the small birds, like this Boreal Chickadee, that are brave enough to land on my hand for food. They are easiest to see in late fall through to early spring. They hide away in the thicker areas of the forest for their nesting season.

There are also the bigger birds, like the Pileated Woodpecker, that stay around all year and will even come to bird feeders in the winter months. They are about the size of a crow and are beautiful birds.

Then there are the White Pelicans which are the largest birds we have, even being a bit larger than the American Bald Eagles (that we also have in plentiful numbers in this area). Those pelicans are beautiful birds and are fun to watch. I could sit and take photos of them all day quite easily.

Then we have the Eastern Chipmunk, a plentiful little critter in this area. They can become very friendly, sitting on my knee and taking peanuts from their cup. I have often had several of them climbing all over me while sitting out on the deck at my previous apartment.

And, of course the Red Squirrel, another common critter which can be fun to have around and will also get very friendly, like the chipmunks, sitting on my knee as well. It was always a lot of fun watching them. And my list would not be complete without mentioning that I like warm places.

That would include this Nice warm place that I visited 5 years ago, enjoying the heat and looking out across the sea. Well, that concludes my list for today. I might do this again and mention more of the things that I like. I hope you enjoy the photos today. Have a wonderful day and God bless!
