For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
BUTTERFLY WINGS
Butterfly wings, so thin, so bright,
Filling the air, within my sight.
Butterfly wings, carry you ’round,
Flying about, without a sound.
Now you land, on flower so tall,
Next I see you, on one so small.
Butterfly wings, taking you high,
Lovely they look, against the sky.
Watching in wonder, as you fly,
Bringing much cheer, as you go by.
Butterfly wings, light though they are,
Carry their beauty, near and far.

Mama Lava had a cute poem wondering why instead of “butterfly” do we not call one a “flutterby?”😉

I saw a butterfly flutter by just the other day! It couldn’t find a flower so it landed on some hay!😂🦋 I always wondered how it got such a name, there probably is a reason.🤔 We’re getting a thunderstorm right now, that can be both good and bad. They often start fires along the edges of these storms.
