  1. Because you are obsessed with the name Betty Wilcox, I looked up Betty in a search engine.
    betty
    noun
A short bar used by thieves to wrench doors open.
A name of contempt given to a man who interferes with the duties of women in a household, or who occupies himself with womanish matters.
A pear-shaped bottle covered round with straw, in which olive oil is sometimes brought from Italy; — called by chemists a Florence flask.

This definition might help you more than looking for a woman. Betty is also a nickname for Elizabeth—God is my oath.

Couldn’t resist and had to look up Wilcox. The name Wilcox is of English origin, derived from the medieval personal name “Wilcock,” which is a diminutive of “William.” It essentially means “son of little William” or “descendant of Wilcock,” with “William” itself meaning “desire” or “will” and “protection.”

These definitions can give some clues to who this person is. It might not be a woman.

Steffie is an amazing 5 year old girl. She is very good at solving puzzles. She may need tp help solve the puzzle of what Betty Wilcox is.

    • You have done your homework well and some of this information will soon show up. I knew the olive oil bottle and have one, except mine is stoneware and comes from Italy from the late 1700s. The name olive oil is clearly marked on the bottle, yet no one I have shown it to can see it. Which shows that we can often be so intent on seeing what we think we should see, that we miss the obvious that is right before us. In this case it is marked with a raised teardrop which at the time signified that it held olive oil. It was used because many people at the time could not read, but they easily learned this mark. I knew about the names. Didn’t know about the bar used by thieves, so I added that in to the story!

Yes, Steffie is quite amazing and loves puzzles and she learns things very quickly from others. She definitely gets this from her mother, though Friskie says it’s from her father. I think Steffie will end up helping us a lot! πŸ€”πŸ‘©πŸ‘»πŸ‘§πŸ˜ΌπŸ•΅οΈβ€β™‚οΈ
