Greetings everyone on this first day of a new week! It has been another hot day here, though not like the hot weather we had earlier. But it was hot, and humid, and a bit smoky. Smoky skies seem to prevail in many countries right now with all the forest fires (oops, I mean wildfires, oops twice, I mean wildland fires).
It’s hard to remember what name I’m supposed to use now. But, whatever name is used, it means our forests are on fire. So far here in Ontario about 1.3 million acres of forest has burned. That’s a lot of trees and it is now our worst fire season on record, and there is still a lot of time left for more forest to burn.

Hopefully we will soon get some widespread rain to stop these fires. Anyway, on a brighter note, here are some beautiful wildflowers to enjoy that I found on our last trip out along the highway.

The beauty of small flowers ofttimes overlooked, is wonderful. Thanks for sharing. Your wild fires sound most unpleasant. Most summers we have smoke filled air but not this year. It has been a cold and rainy summer. It was 47F last night and feels like fall, which is early.

Yes, it is an unbelievable year for fires and now we are back into hot and dry weather all week which will make things worse. I see you have some devastating fires over there in France too! 😱🔥

Thank you so much Eugenia! Yes, we need rain, but we are back to hot and dry weather this week with a slight possibility of thunderstorms. Unfortunately, those storms always start new fires so I hope they stay away. 😊☕☕🔥😬
