The Investigators, Inc. Mystery Of The Beginning. Chapter 1, Part B.

“I don’t like the idea of you going by yourself Steve,” said Kat, at least I think it was Kat, it is getting hard to tell Kat and Jennifer apart sometimes. “I agree,” said Jennifer, “you need your wife along, so I’m going too.” “Wait,” I said, “I will not be alone, the cats will be with me and it is a simple case. It is obvious the son is doing things to make his mom look crazy so he can take control of the estate, find the gold and be a wealthy man. I am sure we can handle that on our own, right kittens?” Meow, meow=Yep, this is easy case, we go and help human widow person. Meow.=Right, we stop mean son and help human widow. He not nice man at all. We all talked some more, Kat and Jennifer come and sit on either side of me.

“Okay,” said one of them, “if you can tell us apart then we will stay behind.” “Right,” said the other. I look at both of them. “No,” I said, “the cats and I are going alone, but we will go and talk it over first. Chung, is everything working with the cats?” “Oh yes,” he said, “everything is good, working good.” So the cats and I went for a walk so we could talk things over. “Okay guys,” I said, “this is just between us.” Right!, they both said at the same time. “I think this is a trap for us,” I said, “who do we know that fits the size of this woman’s son?”

Both their ears go straight up and they say, John! “Yes, he is the only one that would know about our first case,” I said, “only people in that town knew what had happened, it was not a big well know case. And this is something John would try. I am sure he will know we will figure it is a trap, but that is part of his plan, it is a challenge to us. This is our chance to stop John once and for all. Shall we do it?” Yes, they both shout together. Meow, meow=This good time to stop John, we 3 easy do that this time. Meow.=Yep, I agree, we go get him now.

“Okay, but remember, this will not be too easy, John will be waiting for us and likely has others helping him,” I said, “so we will need to be extra careful. But if we bring others with us, John will just disappear and our chance to stop him will be gone. So no talking about this to anyone.” Meow, meow.=Don’t worry, we not talk, this important. “Okay, so now we get ready to go, we will leave this afternoon,” I told them. We go back inside to let the others know what we decided. Kat and Jennifer go to get my things ready and the cats go to get their stuff. The other girls leave too but Baldwin, Rock and Chung stay to talk with me. “I don’t know Steve,” said Baldwin, “I smell a trap here.”

“We will be fine,” I said, “with both cats along it will be easy. Just expose this guy for what he is, find the gold if possible and we will be back in no time.” “Unless something goes wrong,” said Baldwin. “If you are trying to make me worry, it will not work,” I told him with a smile. I am not sure if he was convinced though. “I could go along with you Steve, you could just say I am your personal servant,” said Rock. “Thanks Rock, but if this lady is stressed by people, your size might really cause problems for her,” I said, “it really is best if we go by ourselves this time. We will call for help if we need it.” Meanwhile, as the cats were heading down to their playrooms. Scoop, Scoop! Meow, meow.=Oh, oh, we got scooped again. “Okay you two,” said Kat, “we are going to have a talk.” Both cats sigh.

The Investigators, Inc. Mystery Of The Beginning. Chapter 1, Part A.

A new year is beginning for our PI team and so far it is very quiet. Too quiet. We are all rested up and ready for a new case, but so far nothing has come along. So the cats and I are out in our new yard running around, playing and having a great time. But I finally get tired out, my back just can’t handle this much running around anymore. But it is hard to try and pace myself correctly. Back inside I go while the cats continue running and chasing each other. “You should not be running around like that,” scolded Kat when I came in, “you will mess up your back totally doing that!”

She is right of course. “I know, I need to slow down,” I said, “but it is not so easy to do.” She looks at me and gives me a hug, “yes, I know, but you need to try more.” “I will, honest,” I said, trying to sound convincing. “A possible case has come along,” said Jennifer, and she handed me a letter. The cats came running in at that moment. Meow, meow?=Someone say we have case? I look at them, sometimes they are quite amazing, how did they know that? So I called everyone to the library, well, Kat and Jennifer rounded up everyone.

Even Baldwin was here for morning coffee. It is nice when he visits, we get more coffee that way. “Okay,” I said, “here it is; ‘hello, my name is Olivia Stratton, I am a widow, my husband passed away about 4 months ago. In his will he left everything to me. But we have one son who left home when he was 18 and we have not heard from him in 22 years. Until now. He has come back and claims that he should inherit everything because I am no longer sane. Since he has come back so many strange things have been happening here and he is using that as evidence that I am not sane and should be locked up somewhere.

And also that I cannot manage my affairs anymore so he should have the inheritance instead. He has gone to court already and my lawyer said he likely will win this case. He even believes I have gone insane and that I am just making things up, seeing things that do not exist, it is just terrible. It has caused me so much stress. And I do not believe this man is my son. When my son left home he was a very thin young man and was 5 feet 9 inches tall. This man is husky build and is 6 feet 2 inches tall. I know because he stood beside the marker by the door that we used to measure our son when he was growing up.

My husband left a good inheritance but it is hidden somewhere in this house and it is gold, not money. My husband believed gold was better. This might seem like an odd request also, but I know you have a large group of people working for you, but groups of people make me so nervous. Would you please come by yourself and maybe bring those adorable cats of yours? I know that you and your Muffin have been together since the very beginning when you found a gold inheritance and maybe you can do it again for me. Thank you for considering my request.’, well everyone, what do you think?”
