For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Hi everyone! It me, Muffin!😸 I finally back once more with more fun stories to share with you. My human been real busy doing fun stuff lately. Christmas coming so it baking time! I love when my human bakes, usually lots good stuff end up on floor for me to eat. So one day he decide to bake and I come to watch. He pour some dark liquidy stuff on spoon and I rub against his leg. Wow, you should see him jump and sploop! Whole bunch liquidy stuff go in bowl and liquidy stuff on spoon he spill on clean shirt. Not know why he put on clean shirt when he going to bake.

He should know by now he going to spill something. He call it ‘accident prone’, whatever that mean. I guess it mean he going to make big mess, cause that what he always do. Like one time he going to break eggs to put in big bowl of goop and I watch. Sometimes he drop eggs on floor, they really good. I rub against legs while he crack open egg. For some reason he squish egg into pieces in his hands, then he do human purring again, which he call groaning. Then he have to scoop out egg shells pieces from big bowl of goop.
Anyway, back to first bowl of goop. He making blueberry cupcakes, they so good. One of his little paper hats that he put upside down in cupcake pan to hold goop go flying onto floor. He bend down to pick it up and hit head on corner of stove. Oh, he really go dancing around floor, holding head and groaning after he do that one. He also drop spoon of goop on floor and then he step in it which make him groan even more. I just love that human purring! And he does it so much for me too. He so nice. He move table to new spot now and he wear slippers to protect feet in case he kick table leg.

Well, he not have slippers on one day and wham! He kick table leg real hard. He jump around on one leg, which not good idea for him any time. And he hold foot that he kick. Not sure why he hold foot, that not going to make it better. Amazing though, he not fall, which is good thing, he have bunch of insulator thingies on floor, he might have hurt himself. Later he show me toe, it all nice purple color, look pretty. He should kick all toes so they match in that pretty purple color. He not think it good idea. Very strange human. Oh well, guess that all for now, have nice day everyone! Time for my nap!

Good morning everyone and Happy Sunday! Well, here we are beginning a new day. The temperature is not too bad at 16F (-9C) and not much wind which is very nice. That wind can really make a difference, making it feel much colder than it is. It is also cloudy again and a little snow is supposed to arrive beginning some time this morning. Then the temperature will get somewhat colder for a couple of days. The chickadees and nuthatches are busy, the blue jays have just arrived, late this morning for some reason.

I have not seen any woodpeckers yet either. But I am sure that will change soon. There only seems to be 8 blue jays around these days, quite a drop from the 22 I had in the fall. A handful of evening grosbeaks has arrived now as well. There has been a couple of days I thought there was a junco around, I only heard it’s chipping sound however, but never saw it.
But yesterday morning there it was, feeding along with the other birds. Guess that one intends to try staying the winter. Not a good choice though, but if he stays around my feeders he has a good chance of making it through the winter. Hmm, there is about 20 evening grosbeaks out there now, so nice to see them and listen to their cheery chirping in the morning. I am enjoying watching out the window, drinking my coffee.

Muffin is sleeping here on the chair with me. She is sleeping, not me, I’m awake. Though sometimes I don’t feel like I am. Something must have scared the grosbeaks again, they are gone. But hopefully they will be back, though it does not seem to work that way lately. Oh well. Just a short post this morning, with some nice, bright pictures to share. Thank you for stopping by, have a great day and God bless!
Steve and Muffin.
