For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Well, things were moving along, but not quite the way we wanted. The General, Sheriff, Tucker, Weller, Danny and some others have all been killed, so we do not need to worry about them now. And the terrible ways of the General have been stopped totally. That will slow down the drug distribution and gun smuggling for a long time, but it will be replaced with someone else. Some of these things never fully stop, they just acquire a new leader to carry out the plans.
Still, it is nice to know that we have done a little in this regard to slow things down. I was thinking about all of this when my phone rang. “Thank you so much Mr. B,” I said, “I will get on it right away. Please keep your men watching things for me and I will pay for their time, plus a bonus for you.” “I don’t need anything Steve,” he said, “just pay my boys for their accommodation and food, that will be good enough.” “Thanks Mr. B,” I said, “we could use someone like you on our team.” He laughed.
“Then what would all my men do?” he asked. “Bring them along, we need more men on our team,” I said, “anyway, I shall get myself moving now.” He then hung up. I called Aari to come along with the Knight Riders and I told Kat to come along with 5 of her girls. I took Jennifer with me, along with Dawn and Beryan. I also took Cathy, Kristy, Maryna, Victoria and Stefanie (from Mandar’s security teams). This way I can send the rest of the Investigators back home with Kristina.
Meanwhile, the people I have chosen are with me on a jet, heading to Colorado, hoping to find Anne and Sunrise. I just hope that Mr. B’s men did not lose them. We arrived at the airport and Baldwin had some vans waiting for us, plus one limousine, for me. Not just for me though, Jennifer, Dawn, Beryan and five cats were also with me in that big car. Jennifer, Kat and I met with 2 of Mr. B’s men and they told me where to find Anne and Sunrise. So, we went in the hotel and went straight up to the tenth floor, to room 1009. We tried the maid routine again, and surprisingly, it worked.
Anne opened the door, Stefanie and Cathy came in carrying fresh towels for the duo. Once the door was open, however, Rock pushed the door all the way, much to the surprise of both girls. Then I came inside with Jennifer and Kat, though both were invisible at the moment. “Hello girls,” I said to the startled ladies, “so nice of you to wait here for me. And now it’s question time for you two. First, where are the stolen jewels?” “No idea what you are talking about Steve,” said Anne, “I certainly don’t have any jewels, stolen or otherwise.” “Me neither,” said Sunrise.
“You know, if you do not cooperate,” I said, “then you will be arrested and charged with several counts of first degree murder.” “And how do you intend to prove that one?” asked Anne. “Well, when you kill someone, it is best to make sure they are dead before you leave them,” I said, “so, Tucker had a lot to say about who shot him and the sheriff, plus two other police officers. And one of Danny’s friends that you killed, actually survived and told us who did the work on them. “But that was all Anne’s idea,” said Sunrise, “and she is the one who did the killing.”
“Yes, I do know that,” I said, “but you are her accomplice, which makes you just as guilty as her. That means both of you will end up in prison the rest of your lives.” Suddenly Sunrise was so scared she began to shake and asked if she could sit down. I said she could. “I will tell you everything,” she said, “those jewels are hidden at an abandoned farm just outside of town, in the old barn.” She continued talking and I sent Aari and his team over there right away to check out her story. It actually did not take long for them to confirm and find the jewels hidden in a small wood box in the dirt floor of the barn.
When Anne heard that the jewels were found, she was furious! And while we were distracted with all of this questioning and such, we did not keep a close eye on Anne who slipped her hand into a purse on the dresser, pulling out a small gun which she quickly used on Sunrise, killing her instantly. Kat and Jennifer appeared right away. Jennifer was standing by me holding my arm to protect me, and Kat attacked Anne, kicking the gun from her hand. She then kicked her twice more, knocking her against the wall. She went limp and slid to the floor, but she was not dead.
We turned her over to the police where she will remain safely in custody. The stolen jewels also were turned over to the police and they soon made their way back to the original owners. The rest of us went back home again, but before we made it all the way across the ocean, I got up to walk around a bit since I was feeling a bit odd and I figured it was due to all the sitting.
However, I began shaking violently and fell to the floor. “He fainted,” said Jennifer. Samantha, the nurse from Mandar looked at me and I was put into the hospital room of our jet. Kat contacted Carolyn about giving me a second shot of that antidote, but Carolyn said it was too early, she was not sure what might happen if both doses were given so close together. But, an hour later I was fine again.
Samantha was still concerned, however, and she talked with Dr. Jorgenson about it. Unfortunately, without testing, he could not say what it was, but I was to go straight to the clinic when we got home. Oh well, at least this didn’t happen during the case, not that I had a big part in this case anyway. Nice to have it all wrapped up anyway and soon we will be out on another case. I wonder what interesting things will happen in this next case?
The End. But a new case will be arriving soon!

LAWS OF LIFE
1. When ones hands are covered in oil, grease, or glue, your nose will start
to itch.
2. Your insurance will cover everything but what has happened.
3. When things seem easy to do, it’s because you haven’t followed all the
instructions.
4. The cost is always higher than one budgets for.
5. The probability that one will spill food on one’s clothes is directly
proportional to its need to be clean.
6. Each and every body sitting on a commode will cause the doorbell to ring.
7. Wind velocity will increase proportionally to the cost of ones hairdo.
8. After discarding something not used for years, you will need it one week
later.

A 6th grade teacher posed the following problem to one of her arithmetic classes:
“A wealthy man dies and leaves ten million dollars. One-fifth is to go to his wife, one-fifth is to go to his son, one-sixth to his butler, and the rest to charity. Now, what does each get?”
After a very long silence in the classroom, one little boy raised his hand and with complete sincerity in his voice, answered, “A lawyer!”

A rookie drill instructor escorted his first batch of new recruits to the mess hall. He told them, “There are three rules in this mess hall: Shut up! Eat up! Get up!”
Checking to see that he had everyone’s attention, he asked, “What is the first rule?”
Much to the amusement of the other instructors, 60 privates yelled in unison, “Shut up, Drill Sergeant!”
