Back At Steve’s Place!

Welcome back everyone to the continuing tour of my place!  I wanted to have this out much sooner today but for some reason it was just one thing after another today and, I’m late.  Well, later than I wanted to be anyway.  But, the good news is that today is going to be a bit shorter than my usual posts.  As I mentioned yesterday, if you happened to miss that post, I am starting something a little different and will be posting Monday to Friday, though Tuesday and Thursday will be a little different.  Such as today’s tour, or continuing tour.  Or something.  Sigh.  My brain isn’t thinking right.  I know what you’re thinking, that’s not nice.

The idea for this tour of my place was suggested to me by a wonderful young woman and very good friend, Ilona!  She has been a real help to me over the last little while in my blogging journey with many good tips.  You can find her blog over at https://easydiet.blog and now, let’s get started with the first pictures which show some closeup views of my blue and white dishes.

My favorite group of pitchers, the one on each end are water pitchers from the 1880’s, the spongware pitcher on the left is 9 inches tall (22.5 cm) for scale. The small one on the left is a cream pitcher, the small on the right is a syrup pitcher with lid, both from the late 1800’s.

The plate on the left is from the 1870s while the soup bowl on the right dates to between 1835 and 1859 based on the makers mark on the back.

I like blue and white dishes, though I doubt I would take them on a long distance move! Probably end up with a lot of pieces!  Next I would like to share my antique kerosene lamps which are also some favorites.  What isn’t?

The center lamp is 13 inches tall (32.5 cm) not including the glass top and is a light purple color as is the lamp on the right, both from the late 1800’s. The lamp on the left is an Aladin lamp which are quite bright compared to the typical kerosene lamps, it’s from the 1900’s.

The little lamp on the left is my oldest dating to 1870 to 1875, I’m not sure of the age of the other lamp.

Then I would like to finish off with a few more pics of my collection of old board games.  And I still have several others besides the ones I have shown but I don’t have the space to display all of them.  Sigh.  Old games are fascinating pieces of the past, they are colorful and even fun to play!

The two Monopoly games on the left are from 1936, I also have the original board for one of them, the Monopoly game on the right is from the 1940s and the one in the middle from the 1950s. The old marbles date from the early 1900’s up to the 1940s.

Another group of games dating from the 1920s to the 1960s. The colors are a bit washed out a bit due to the fact is was just so bright in here today with that sun shining.

    I remember my mother having plates such as yours. Until you posted this, I had completely forgotten about them. Those lanterns are just fabulous!
    Boy they’d make for an adventurous mystery story!!! Suggestion maybe?

    • Hi Nova, thanks for taking the time to read, much appreciated! I love mysteries, but I’m just not good at writing, wish I could do things like that. But who knows, maybe I’ll try one day.😀

  12. I love this! The Kerosene lamps do give an Aladdin feeling and I’m obsessed with Monopoly (even though it’s a century-old game), which my cousins and I have a GREAT time playing!
