A Nature Trail, Or…

Hello everyone on this another beautiful day up here in the north!  Yesterday it was actually 83F (28C) and today it was 79F (26C), not bad at all and well above normal temperatures for this time of the year.  And after all that cold weather, it literally feels hot out there.  But right now there are clouds out there and thunderstorms are coming later.  Poor Muffin.  She will likely be spending the night under the bed instead of on the bed.  She definitely does not like thunderstorms.  If they get really bad, then she will come and cuddle close to me, something that she just started doing this year.

My lovely nature trail.

I have been out walking on my river path the last 2 days.  It truly is a beautiful nature trail.  That’s what it’s supposed to be.  It is not a convenient place to toss trash.  Some people have not learned that yet.  I like to carry a little bag with me to pick up the trash that people leave behind.  Okay.  This is a rant today.  People bring this stuff in with them, why can’t they carry it back out?  They bring in various drink containers that are full when they bring them in, so why can’t they carry the empty drink container back out with them?  I mean, it’s lighter now when it’s empty.

Trash tossed aside.

Then there is the many different candy wrappers, gum wrappers, cigarette butts.  People walk along the trail smoking then toss their butts out among the trees.  News item here, that can actually start a forest fire.  It has happened before.  It would be terrible to have that area burn up just because someone can’t dispose of their trash properly.  And, of course, there is the normal breaking of bottles on the rocks.  What’s with that?  People love to do it.  That means broken glass all over the place.  Kids walk along this path too.  Young kids.  They just might pick up a piece of that broken glass and seriously cut themselves.IMG_9002

Another news item.  Glass can magnify the sun’s rays and start a forest fire too.  That also has happened.  Why can’t people think a bit?  There is a lot of advertising warning about these things that can cause fires.  Every year it’s made public.  People can’t say they didn’t know.  Sigh.  A lot of people say, it’s only a small gum wrapper, that won’t hurt anything.  If a hundred people use that path every week and each person dropped one item, just think how much trash would be along that trail by the end of summer.  It would be terrible.

Let’s keep nature trails looking nice.

Sorry.  Just had to do my rant today.  So many people just don’t think.  Please everyone, think before tossing that trash.  Get rid of it properly.  That way everyone can enjoy the outdoors the way it should look.  I am totally in favor of nature trails so people can get out and enjoy this wonderful world that God gave us.  But let’s all help to keep it looking beautiful.  Thank you for reading, I hope you are having a great day and God bless!

  1. No worries everyone has right to rant. I’m boiling about exactly the same thing. My almost three year old sometimes walk around with trash and running to me to ask where’s the trashcan. And I have a very strong urge to shout because how dare they make my boy clean up after their mess ugh 😠

  2. I agree Steve. But it’s because people don’t understand the beauty of nature. Or see what God gives He ask us to maintain it and honor Him. Sometimes as humans we can’t focus on care outside of ourselves. And to be frank, we can be a lazy species. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Thank you for this rant and valuable information. What God gives we should appreciate it. Because honestly He can just take it away. Then we’ll be left with desolate lands.

    • Thanks for reading and sharing your comment Tiffany! Yes, we certainly can be lazy and often times, just don’t care. So sad, you’re right, we can’t see beyond ourselves sometimes. We should take care of what God has given us. Have a great evening Tiffany!😁😸🍁🍂

  3. The empty Tim Horton’s cup tossed on the side of the road doesn’t scream, “Check out our beautiful country!” I believe that we humans will inevitably destroy not only the human race but the entire world, thanks to our stupidity and laziness. It’s only a matter of time…

    • It’s amazing all the trash I have found along that path, razors, bottles, 6 disposable diapers in one spot, lots of beer cans, energy drink cans, candy wrappers of all sorts. I should have been taking pictures all summer. Yep, people are lazy and just don’t care. I hope you have a great day Hilary!😃😺🌞🍁🍂

  4. I don’t understand how some people can have so little sensitivity, how some people can be so empty inside. Inside the heart and inside the brain.
Have a good day Steve! A great hug to Muffin!

    • Thank you so much for reading Ross! Yes, you are right, people just don’t care about anything it seems. Like one day, 6 disposable diapers, a couple razors, several beer cans, food containers (someone had a picnic and didn’t want to bring their trash back home). So sad.😕
Thanks, you have a great day as well!!😃😺🌞🍁🍂

      • In Germany, Austria and Japan , between 60 and 80 percent of the trash is recycled . These raw materials could make wealth as well as create job opportunities. Canada is an open country for immigration that could attract skills and talents from all over the world …
I have been reading that many immigrants (that consitute up more than 200 thousand immigrants per year in Canada ) are university degree holders graduating in Canada and skillful labor to improve and upgrade the Canadian economy…

      • Yes, if they did things right, they could easily create many jobs this way which would be a big help to the economy. Right now we ship our recyclables to other countries. We could do it ourselves.

  5. Hey Steve! A straight message to all the people harms this beautiful universe without having a second thought. Problem is they are lazy And I’m angry about it. I have a strong urge to kick them while they do it. Sigh!!

    • Yes, I agree with you, makes me angry too. No reason at all to do leave trash behind like that. We need bigger fines too for this kind of thing. Thanks so much for reading Simon, much appreciated!! I hope you are enjoying your evening!😃🌞😺🍁🍂
