For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Good morning everyone and Happy Sunday to you all as well! Well, it’s a mild morning once again, and it’s snowing once again. Not really much snow, but enough to mess up the streets and sidewalks making them even more slippery and dangerous than before. But that is what winter is all about. Some people like winter. I’m not really sure why. Though most people who like winter have never really experienced a true northern winter, like it is up here. I agree, there is much beauty in winter. There is also much hardship. Not just for people, but also for the animal life that lives in this northern part of the world. All part of winter. Without winter would summer be so nice? Yes, it would be. But it’s best to just enjoy what we can in every season, keep a smile going and remember, the sun always shines. And here at Steve’s Country we like to combine the two and provide “a smile as wide as a country sunrise”!
And now, for everyone’s favorite part…
Our third different pink hollyhock flower and very beautiful too. This bee seems to agree with me about it’s beauty, it spent a lot of time with this one.
And then the bee went over to this beautiful red hollyhock to continue gathering it’s nectar treasure for the day, plus scattering pollen from flower to flower in the process.
I hope you don’t mind too much for having both flowers today being hollyhocks. But they really are a beautiful flower and come in so many different shades of colors. And they really are a true country garden flower. I hope you all enjoy your Sunday and God bless!

Hollyhocks really don’t have much of a fragrance.🤪 At night there is sort of a light sweetness to them.🤔 But with these it’s just their beauty mostly. And they will bloom all summer here, probably longer in warmer climates.😃😺🌞

Thanks! They are easy to grow, not sure if they bloom much the first year or not.

I think every season has its beauty but one of the reason for which we’ve left Italy was the winter…I like snow but lately winter means only cold, rain and dark…🥶
That bee knows what is good 🐝 😉

I agree, the snow is nice, except when there is a meter and a half on the ground like last winter, but the cold and short days/long nights can be the hard part. Plus the fact that it lasts so long, normally 6 months for us, last winter was 7 months which is a long time.
Thanks for taking a look Ribana!😃😺🌺🐝

Oh yes…and then is taking several months of dark and cold 🥶 not very pleasant 😓
Except the snow ❄️ snow is beautiful if doesn’t do any harm though 😊

Yes, the snow is beautiful, covering the trees, floating gently to the ground. But I’m ready for spring now.😂😹🙄

Steve, thank you for sharing a bit of summer. We can use a shot of summer in the middle of winter.
