Steve’s Bird Of The Day #8.
Hi everyone! Here we are again with another bird of the day photo for you. This one is the Bohemian waxwing, a winter visitor for us from the much further north than where I live. They generally show up in November and leave again in March heading back north. They are about the size of a robin, they love berries of all kinds which is their main food during the winter, as well as crab apples. They travel in flocks and seem to be quite abundant this winter. Yes, they really are a beautiful bird. We don’t have a big variety of winter bird species, but some of them are wonderful colors.
