Wandering Through Wednesday. #5

Good morning to all of you on this sunny Wednesday! And cold. Very cold. However, it has been colder so that is a plus and that beautiful sunshine just makes things look so nice and cheerful. The birds might disagree though, they once again are bouncing around with legs and feet covered up. It is quite amazing to watch a little chickadee sitting on a branch, holding a sunflower seed in it’s feet, which are not even visible, pecking it open and eating the seed, without dropping it.

Though sometimes they do drop it and they fly down after it. It is amazing that they can hold that seed at the best of times, but in this cold, it must be hard. Though I don’t see any of them complaining about it. Just part of life. Complaining wastes energy and time. And just makes us feel miserable. And it does not change the situation. But we still love to complain. More people need to watch birds.

Part of the river.

Well, we ended up getting a total of 6 inches (15cm) more snow yesterday. It was a heavier snow too. Plus there was freezing rain and freezing drizzle along with that. So I wore myself out shoveling snow yesterday. My doctor and my physiotherapists have told me not to shovel snow. But it snows here. I did take it easy and split it up into 4 shoveling sessions and relaxed in between. So it was not so bad.

Except…we had freezing rain. My steps were slippery and covered with snow. Even being so careful…I still slipped and fell. So now I am not moving around much. Muffin seemed to recognize that and didn’t ask to play this morning. I thought that was very nice of her. She is now sleeping peacefully on our bed. I have one of my antique coverlets on my bed right now and she really likes that one to sleep on. She really likes most wool blankets actually, but some more than others.

Another spot along the river.

I’m not really sure why that is, but she can tell the difference between blankets. Have I ever shown my small collection of coverlets? Would you like to see them? It has been a while since I have given a tour of my apartment and collections. If you would enjoy seeing more, please let me know and I will do a post each week for that. Thank you so much for joining Muffin and I this morning, have a great day and God bless!

Steve and Muffin.

  1. Good Morning Steve, would love to see your collection of coverlets. Sorry to hear about your falling. Freezing rain is dangerous. Too bad your landlord will not clear your snow. Injuries from slipping and falling on ice can be dangerous. My preference is leaving the snow rather than injuring myself. Not fond of falling and having surgery. Have a blessed safe day!

    • Good evening! Wow, I’m late and way behind today. Thanks, I will be showing the coverlets, just need to get some pictures of them. I was talking with my landlord and it looks like he will get the new tenant in the house to clear my deck for me, which will be nice. It’s my steps that are the worst part, can’t leave the snow on them. Thanks so much for the nice comment, have a great evening!๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜บ๐ŸŒ™
