For a smile as wide as a country sunrise

Good morning everyone on this rather cold morning! But Happy Friday to all of you! Who cares about a little cold anyway? Okay, me for one, Muffin for another. But that’s just us. At least it’s nice and warm inside. I’m not sure, but I think Muffin just growled. She’s dreaming again. Probably thinking of those warm summer days that lie ahead. When she can sleep stretched out in front of her open window. Or sit by the door and watch chipmunks. Or talk to Scrappy through the bedroom window. Or bite my foot if I don’t keep the door open even though she hasn’t been anywhere near the door for half an hour. The joys of summer.
But it’s not summer yet for a very long time, so, let’s enjoy some more summer pictures for now…
Like this bee enjoying time on this beautiful blue delphinium. We haven’t had any blue flowers for a while so it’s time.
And another sun drenched light pink hollyhock, complete with a nice big bee that chased me away after taking this picture. Probably the same grumpy bee as last time.
And there is our summer color for today. I hope you all have a fantastic Friday and God bless!
Steve and Muffin.

Here I sit, it’s cold, I say,
Snow is falling all the day.
So I dream of summer sun,
Days so warm with lots of fun.
Early morn with sun so bright,
Shines on all, it’s golden light.
The leaves are then all aglow,
Flowers bright put on a show.
Butterflies go here and there,
Spreading color everywhere.
Singing loud are birds so bright,
Starting e’en before it’s light.
All of this and so much more,
Does summer give, from it’s store.
