For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Greeting everyone! Here we are starting something new. I will be keeping Sunday’s Pictures as normal, but I am going to add Monday, Wednesday and Friday to that idea as well. I don’t know if I will follow a theme for these 3 days or not, but not this month anyway. There will just be different pictures chosen for each day. That way it will be a surprise. Today will feature 3 different wild orchids found in this area. I hope you will enjoy them.
The first is the yellow lady’s slipper above which I showed one other time, but from the side, this time from the front. They used to be quite common around here but numbers are much less now due to people picking them.
Next is the spotted coralroot, a small flower just about half and inch (a little over 1cm). Being small people seldom pick them so they are still quite plentiful. But they are a beautiful little flower and fun to find them.
Last on the list is the bog twayblade, found in wet marshy areas and one of our all green orchids. The flowers are about 3 quarters of an inch (18mm) in size. Easy to overlook these flowers due to their color and being surrounded by other marsh plants/grasses.
Well, that’s our first look at this new feature here at Steve’s Country. Don’t forget to put a smile on your face as you meet others today. And even if you don’t see anyone, smile anyway! It will make you feel good. I hope you have a great Monday and God bless!
Steve and Muffin.

So beautiful! Orchids always give me the impression they have different faces and expressions 🙂
Previously at home I was only used to see the orchids in pots and when I came to Singapore and I saw them spontaneously growing in the parks I was so amazed 🙂 Very beautiful and delicate flowers 🙂 I love the green ones 🙂
Have a wonderful week Steve and Muffin 😃😺🌞

Thank you very much Ribana! Yes, orchids do have that face look to them. I have only seen them in pots, seeing them grow naturally would be so cool! They are so beautiful indeed.
I hope you have a wonderful week as well, thank you!😃😺🌞🍁🍂

Actually I am worse, but my own fault for going out walking when I wasn’t quite ready. Should have waited.😕 But, that’s what happens sometimes. Can’t worry about it.😃😀 Thanks Simon, take care!😀😺

Looks like I am officially in recovery mode now, had to go to ER this morning. It will be a couple months before I’m walking my path again.😳 And by then we will be well into winter!😂🥶❄
